It Just Kept Getting Worse (In a Good Way)

 Squid Game

Squid Game is one of those shows where so many people are raving about it that it is impossible not to watch. I did not know what to expect considering I had absolutely no idea what it was about other than that it was in a different language. Long story short, it ended up being just as good as everyone said it was. I liked the whole layout of the show and how it was paced, it went at the perfect speed to keep both me and Avery hooked.

The show is based in Korea where people who are deathly deep in debt are given one last chance at winning big money. They are put into the games where they compete to the death for a huge cash reward that is given to whoever survives all six games. I thought the concept was really interesting and different from anything I’ve seen before. It also makes you think about things like money and desperation, which adds another layer to it. It really shows how far people are willing to go for money and it was sad to see how many people valued money over human life.

One of the only downsides is that sometimes I found the violence and gore to be a bit much. I will admit that I am a wimp who cannot deal with scary things, but sometimes it was just flat out unnecessary to be showing some of the stuff they displayed. It was sometimes confusing when the words did not match up with the character's mouths, but that is not really a factor to talk negativity about since it is a Korean show.

I definitely would rewatch this show. There are not a whole lot of episodes per season, so it does not take very long to rewatch it. The plot lines are very good, and it would not be an issue to know what happens the second time around; however, nothing will beat watching this show for the first time and witnessing the crazy plot twists!

This show was very fun and exciting I liked it a lot. 8/10.
