Too Much Drama… Yet I Couldn’t Stop Watching?!

 Scandal

Shonda Rhimes may have written one of the greatest shows I have ever seen. I did not know I would find a show that I would like this much, especially considering that our last watch was Breaking Bad, which received a perfect score; however, Scandal was absolutely phenomenal. I think that Avery might have liked it even more than I did! The amount of drama that occurred in this show may have been the most unrealistic thing ever, but I cannot say that I was not absolutely eating it up. I had not even heard much about the show before starting it, and I think that is completely absurd.

The show follows main character, Olivia Pope. She is commonly mistaken as a lawyer, but likes to be referred to as a "fixer". She fixes possible huge PR crises for very powerful people in Washington D.C., including the president. She works with a team of individuals and gets herself into a very messy love affair with the president himself. One of my favorite parts of the show is Olivia herself. She’s super confident and smart, and she just knows how to handle situations in the most brilliant way. It made the show really interesting because you always want to see how she’s going to fix the next problem.

I will say that there were some points in the show where we thought that there was too much going on. There were so many characters in the show that at some points there were too many plot lines going on to even be able to follow. The way the show was laid out made it pretty easy to figure out, but sometimes it just felt like a little too much confusion.

This is the exact blueprint for a show to rewatch. It is so bingeworthy and the plot lines are short enough where we could pick up anywhere and find enjoyment in watching it again.

Scandal may be my second favorite show of all time. I am absolutely obsessed and would give it a 9.5/10.
